European General Court: Collecting societies not guilty of concerted practice

The General Court has annulled the Commission’s 2008 decision that collecting societies infringed EU competition law. The Commission found that twenty-four EU collecting societies had engaged in “concerted practices”. In its ruling of 12 April 2013, the General Court rejected this for lack of evidence.  However, the General Court did uphold the other elements of the Commission’s decision.
